Rob: Out For Hobbit Blood

Boston Rob is a name we're all familiar with. He's played Survivor 85 times and has never won. He transformed himself from a semi unlikable guy to a guy you kind of want to root for.

A lot of people have issues with former players coming back, but I don't mind it at all. I just want a good solid game with a shitload of drama and lots of backstabbing. I think Rob is someone who can contribute to my vision of a Survivor Utopia. Only a select few are handpicked to become "Professional Survivor Players" and you kind of have to respect that. Whether you love him or hate him, Rob is back to play bitches. It'll be extremely difficult for him to win, but you better believe I'm going to enjoy watching him try.

  1. I am not a huge fan of Rob, but he does make the game interesting...even his strange accent and his proclivity to crying and passing out in the jungle are entertaining in some way...besides, his hatred for Russell (not exactly unrequited) should make quite a few sparks that (hopefully) would make this season fiery...
we all do need some change from the boring last season...

  2. I still like him. Despite how well he's done for himself, he still comes off as someone you should feel sorry for because he's never actually won it and you just know it's the one thing in life he really really wants. I hope he manages to stay in it and keep us entertained for as long as possible but I think his team will have it in for him.

  3. Rob has become a professional reality show contestant by now. What wouldn't he do for money!

However, out of his 3 times on Survivor twice he didn't even make it to the jury.
His TAR appearances were not a great success either.

I also remember there was a real accident on one of TAR seasons when a car (with two contestants and two crew members in it) lost control and overturned. The only person who drove by without even slowing down was Rob (along with his bride). Not even bothered to check if someone was injured or dead, let alone offer help.

Well, my point is - he might be ok for the Survivor show, but I wouldn't count on him to help you survive in real life.

  4. I like Rob. I'd love to see him win. He's scrappy and he keeps coming back for more and from what I've seen and heard from him he is so damn grateful to Survivor that I can't help but love the guy.

  5. Self-absprbed, cheezy, no-real-talent, *bor-ing*, polyester-wearing, used-car-salesman.

Not surprised by anon-1:13's report of him driving by a rollover accident. *no* money would ever let me do that. I'm all for a cut-throat game... but my kids and I celebrate 'Survivor Day' every July 8th--to mark the day we survived a horrific rollover, and we owe our lives to the scores of people who stopped and helped. Now I know what an asshole Rob really is. ...There's game-asshole, which I love, but he is just beyond pathetic.

    polyester wearing.
    yep, the nastiest double-knit kind.
the kind that never, ever goes away. yuk.
